To put it rather simplistically it is an abridged yet powerful version of the backbone of LSS – the DMAIC process (stands for Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control Process). The tool in extremely cross-functional as well as can be used by linear departments i.e. Operations, Sales, Finance etc.

Qwiksolver is precisely designed to address situations that have been identified to not require an intense amount of time & team.

  • Step 1 – Define the issue/problem to be solved – Should be measurable & specific
  • Step 2 – Measure what matters – Assess the current situation & its impact on the business
  • Step 3 – Analyze the cause(s) – Tools used such as Pareto, Trend chart, Fishbone & 5 Why’s
  • Step 4 – Improve the situation – Usually a brainstorming session wherein ideas are shared
  • Step 5 – Control the future – Implemented solution & agreement on periodic check points

Due to its “simple yet powerful” ease of use, it is used from reasoning out a problem, to identifying its cause right till its last stage of resolving the problem and with the help of adequate facts and data concluding with selecting the appropriate next steps/actions.
